Who Is The Financial Bloke?

My name's Ben Law. I grew up on a beef cattle and cropping property on the Liverpool Plains in Northwest NSW. My family has been farming now for 3 generations and my parents and many of my family are still farming, so I have a deep understanding of the business of farming and how business owners and farmers think.

Being from the land, my real passion is for helping farming families and the greater rural community grow and thrive. With a degree in Agricultural Economics, I started out trying to do this as a Financial Adviser and spent over 20 years advising farming families. But I soon saw I could only reach a very limited number of people this way and that I could have a greater impact by focussing on education and coaching for the rural community more broadly through the profile of The Financial Bloke.

Now, having sold my financial advice business and handed in my financial advice licence, my full-time focus is on educating as many people as possible via my AgriCoach Podcast, my regular Queensland Country Life column, delivering educational presentations for various rural community groups and providing Strategic Coaching to agribusinesses and rural families.

In the podcast, I interview successful producers & professionals to share their knowledge and glean the secrets of their success whilst also drawing on my own years of professional experience.

My Strategic Coaching is for farming families and agribusinesses who are looking to really grab the bull by the horns; to focus, plan, prioritise and work through the roadblocks they're facing. I help them with their big picture strategic view, really unpack what they want to achieve and explore the options for getting there. But most importantly, help them protect family harmony and relationships in the process.
